Resident Evil Requiem Devs Say Grace And Leon's Sections Are 'Almost Equally Split,' Detail Leon's Porsche
Capcom released a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem during The Game Awards 2025, and it featured the return of Leon S. Kennedy to the series, older and more grizzly than we've ever seen him. Following that trailer, Capcom spoke with Automaton, as reported by IGN, to discuss this beloved character's return, how much we can expect of him in Requiem, and his fancy new Porsche. Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi told Automaton that Leon and Grace will share the game's runtime equally. "In terms of gameplay, Grace and Leon's playable sections are almost equally split," Nakanishi said. "The structure is similar to Resident Evil Revelations." Nakanishi added that Requiem is Leon's first return to Raccoon City since his time in Resident Evil 2, "so seeing how he responds to the 'place where it all began' now that he's older is another major point of interest." In terms of designing this more gruff Leon for Requiem, the director said, "Although he's a character who carries a lot on his shoulders, we took a lot of care in refining him to be an 'ikeoji' [a cool/attractive guy]," adding that the reaction to this new trailer made the development team happy. Elsewhere in the interview with Automaton, Requiem producer Masato Kumazawa detailed Leon's fancy new ride: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. Kumazawa said, "We were looking for a car that fit Leon, and thankfully, Porsche kindly agreed, which led to a full collaboration." The Requiem producer says this Porsche is a custom-built Cayenne Turbo GT meant to fit the game's world, adding that "it's a one-of-a-kind car." Resident Evil Requiem hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on February 27, 2026. While waiting for its launch, read about how Capcom will hold a Resident Evil Requiem showcase early next year, and then read about Game Informer's hands-on time with it. After that, read about how Requiem, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Biohazard are launching on Nintendo Switch 2 in February, and then check out Game Informer's exclusive interview with Requiem's director and producer. Orbitals Is A Co-Op Puzzle Adventure Inspired By Classic Anime Coming Exclusively To Switch 2 Next Year
Publisher Kepler Interactive and newcomer developer Shapefarm have revealed Orbitals, a co-op puzzle adventure inspired by classic anime. The gorgeous reveal trailer also reveals that Orbitals will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026. Shapefarm is based in Tokyo, Japan, so it's no wonder Orbitals is a clear love letter to 1990s anime, like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, and others. In the game, players will team up as Maki and Omura, two inseparable explorers who must brave the perils of space to save the crumbling space station they call home from a supernatural cosmic storm. Check it out in the Orbitals reveal trailer for yourself below: "Whether it's by using unique tools to open the path forward, piloting their spaceship through dangerous asteroid fields, or taking a break and soaking up the lavish anime-inspired atmosphere, players will embark on an intergalactic adventure and forge new bonds as friends together," a press release reads. Orbitals is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and, because it's exclusive to Switch 2, will allow players to team up with two pairs of Joy-Con 2 controllers on a single Switch 2 console via local split-screen co-op. Plus, with Nintendo's GameShare feature, players can share Orbitals with a local player on another Switch 2 or Switch console, or matchmake online for remote co-op. Here are some additional Orbitals screenshots: Kepler Interactive says Shapefarm teamed up with Studio Massket, which is an anime studio behind series like I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, Lycoris Recoil, Blue Lock, and Sasaki and Miyano, to create bespoke cutscenes for Orbitals for an added layer of animation authenticity. Orbitals will launch exclusively on Switch 2 sometime in 2026. Are you going to check out Orbitals next year? Let us know in the comments below! View the full article

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Wins Big At The Game Awards And Drops Massive Free Content Update As A Thank You
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 just made history by winning the most Game Awards of all time, including the coveted Game of the Year award, but developer Sandfall Interactive isn't done just yet. During the acceptance speech for the final award of the night, the developers announced that the content update alluded to earlier in the year isn't just coming soon – it's out right now. You can check out the trailer below, but if you haven't played the game, be aware that the footage contains light spoilers. This update adds a new area to explore called Verso's Drafts. Based on the trailer, it appears to become available in the later stages of the game, and adds several new elements, including new enemies, new story moments, new music, new outfits, and a highly-requested photo mode. It also adds new bosses in the Endless Tower, various quality-of-life improvements, performance enhancements, and incorporates Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian as localized languages for the game. You can read the full patch notes here. "Rejoin the Expedition on another journey through the whimsical hideout of a young Verso," the YouTube description reads. "In a land crafted through joy and innocence, sometimes darkness is uncovered when imagination gets carried away." It's a substantial bit of content, and to reiterate, it's free. The update is currently available on all platforms. New Fantasy Shooter Highguard Announced From Former Titanfall Devs, Launching In Weeks
Near the end of tonight’s Game Awards presentation, we got a look at a brand new shooter game from Wildlight Entertainment, a team that includes 61 members of the team that built Apex Legends and Titanfall. After departing Respawn, the team began work on a new shooter called Highguard. The fast-paced gameplay seems to mix mount riding, gun-shooting, power usage, and area capture into an intoxicating mix. The debut trailer isn’t what many have come to expect from game reveals, as it was mostly focused on showing off gameplay. That’s likely because the game is surprisingly close to launch, and is set to release in January. It’s unclear at this juncture precisely how the game mixes storytelling and worldbuilding with multiplayer elements, but much of the gameplay does appear to be competitive in nature. Highguard is set to launch as a free-to-play title on January 26, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. View the full article

David Harbour Announces Total War: Warhammer 40,000 At The Game Awards
Total War, the real-time strategy series, first fully crossed over with Warhammer in 2016, but after three entries in the classic Warhammer continuity, the series is venturing into the distant future with Total War: Warhammer 40,000. The game was revealed at the Game Awards by none other than Stranger Things star David Harbour, who also said he'll appear in the game. You can see the announcement trailer here and see some images from it below. "Experience the brutal fusion of galactic strategy and grimdark warfare in Total War: Warhammer 40,000," the trailer's description reads on YouTube. "Take command of iconic factions, customise your war machine, and engage in devastating battles as you carve a bloody warpath across the stars." The trailer ends with a glimpse of gameplay, though we see plenty of iconic factions and images from the Warhammer 40k franchise, though it is, perhaps unsurprisingly, space marine-centric. A press release confirmed four playable factions, however: Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks, and Aeldari. That same press release also promises that players will be able to create their own armies as well. "For the first time in Total War, forge an army that’s truly your own," it reads. "Shape every detail from the faction’s title, heraldry, iconography and arcane wargear. Define their traits, sharpen their tactics, and unleash a signature style of destruction that leaves your mark upon the galaxy." Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will launch not just on PC, like the series normally does, but also on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For info on another Warhammer 40K RTS, check out senior associate editor Wesley Leblanc's Gamescom impressions of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War IV. Star Wars: Galactic Racer Is Coming Next Year
It's not officially a Star Wars: Episode I – Racer sequel (which featured podracing exclusively), but the newly announced Star Wars Galactic Racer might as well be. The game is developed by Fuse Games, whose members have history working on games like Need for Speed and Burnout, and the trailer showed different types of new and familiar Star Wars vehicles (like speeder bikes and more) racing against backdrops like AT-AT graveyards while a narrator yells, "The galaxy needs racing!" The trailer also takes a moment to highlight an appearance from Sebulba (or maybe just an alien that is the same species as Sebulba). The game is coming some time next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC View the full article

Mega Man: Dual Override Brings The Blue Bomber Back In 2027
Capcom is bringing the Blue Bomber back. Mega Man is back in action with Mega Man: Dual Override, set to arrive sometime in 2027. Shown at tonight's Game Awards 2025, we got a very brief glimpse of gameplay for Mega Man's new adventure. With an orchestral tease of Dr. Wily's Theme, the new Mega Man takes a classic approach to the Blue Bomber, with a more stylized look. What "Dual Override" means is yet to be seen, but the actual gameplay looks like classic Mega Man. Run across the field, shoot and slide, and deal with the many colorful and dangerous robots in your way. We'll doubtless learn more between now and 2027, but seeing a gameplay slice right now certainly feels like a sign of confidence from the crew at Capcom. Mega Man: Dual Override is aiming for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Switch 1, and PC. View the full article

Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve Takes Flight In 2026
During a certain period of gaming history, Ace Combat could reliably be expected to appear as a new game on a roughly yearly basis. But as development processes have lengthened, so too has the wait for a new installment in the arcade-style combat flights of the long-running series. That looks like it will change next year, with the reveal of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. The new, mostly cinematic trailer suggests that the series is adding an increased focus on storytelling and character in this new installment, but it’s clear that the game will also still feature high-speed military jets fighting above the clouds. It seems we’ll be waiting a while before we get additional details, but we know that Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is set to lift off in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. View the full article

Lords of the Fallen 2 Looks Gruesome In First Gameplay Trailer
Polish developer CI Games revealed the first footage of Lords of the Fallen 2 gameplay during The Game Awards earlier this evening. The trailer shows off three bosses, confirmed via an official press release: the Heartroot Warden, a metal clad skeletal figure wielding a giant chainsword; an angelic, teleporting knight named Koydreth; and a building-sized dragon called Lingao the Souring Storm, who harnesses various elements. “We are excited to share this first gameplay look for Lords of the Fallen II at the TGAs,” game director James Lowe states in the release. “Designed and developed in accordance with our players-first philosophy, we look forward to seeing the community’s reaction to the faster and more brutal combat, the significantly greater enemy variety, and the more spectacular boss battle showdowns.” Lords of the Fallen 2 Gameplay Trailer: CI Games courted controversy earlier this year with what it calls its “player-first philosophy," which global marketing director Ryan Hill used to disparage games with social or political elements in an earnings call earlier this year, Strefa Inwestorow reported in January. The studio also came under fire for anti-DEI remarks, including from its CEO, Marek Tyminski, and for making a big deal of changing Lords of the Fallen's body type labeling to "Male/Female" instead of "A/B." “We remain committed to producing player-first video games that prioritize an excellent user experience [...] while some video games have recently taken the opportunity to embed social or political agendas within their experiences, it is clear that many players do not appreciate this [...]" Hill stated during the call when questioned about diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. The rebooted Lords of the Fallen arrived in 2023, earning a 75 out of 100 on reviews aggregate site Metacritic. Game Informer's Wesley LeBlanc awarded it a 6 out of 10. While no release window is yet available for Lords of the Fallen 2, the Soulslike action role-playing game is set to arrive sometime in 2026. View the full article

No Law Is An Open World Cyberpunk FPS From The Developers Of The Ascent
Neon Giant, the developer behind 2021's The Ascent, has revealed No Law, a first-person shooter RPG set in a cyberpunk open world. Revealed during The Game Awards 2025, No Law is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. In the reveal trailer, we get a look at the beautiful city of Port Desire, the sprawling and seedy Unreal Engine 5-developed setting for No Law, as well as Grey Harker, the ex-military veteran that players will control in the game. We meet Harker, who has left his war-torn past behind for a quieter life, at a moment where the past comes calling, and trouble finds him once more. Using his "black-ops instincts and custom hardware," Harker is set on taking back what's been stolen from him and confronting the city that wronged him. Check it out in the No Law reveal trailer for yourself below: Neon Giant says No Law is a cyber-noire narrative with deep player agency, noting that "whether you favor precision, stealth, or destruction, your approach defines the experience." "Master advanced military upgrades, experiment with sci-fi tools and vertical movement, and turn every mission into a personal story of revenge, consequence, and survival," a press release reads. "Set against the backdrop of Port Desire, a sprawling port carved into the cliffs of a restless sea, No Law invites players into a world built on neon sleaze instead of regulation. The city is a hub of import and excess, overflowing with colorful characters whose motives are as murky as the smog-filled skyline. From the rooftop gardens to the alleys below, every inch of Port Desire is alive, reactive, and waiting to be shaped by the player's choices." Check out the screenshots below for another look at Port Desire: Ahead of Neon Giant's unveiling of No Law, I spoke with studio co-founder and creative director Tor Frick and co-founder and co-creative director Arcade Berg about the game. They tell me The Ascent taught Neon Giant that the team really wants to push the envelope on immersion. "The games are very different [...] but there's lots of crossover," Berg tells me. "What we really learned a lot about making The Ascent was how to tell a story with the world. It had a story and side missions, but it wasn't a narrative-heavy game. It told a lot of stories in the environment with the set, with the art, with the conversations NPCs were having, and we learned a lot about in-world storytelling that isn't explicit. Not every story has to be told with words, voice, or text, so we're always trying to ask [with No Law], 'Is there a story there?'" With No Law being Neon Giant's second cyberpunk game, I was curious about what it is about these types of settings that draws the studio in. Frick tells me cyberpunk worlds allow for a lot of video game actions to fit narratively. "We're very precious about having a world where everything we do in the game fits in the fiction of the world," he says. "That's a big part [of our love for cyberpunk]; we can kind of mold the world to fit what the game needs. [Plus], there's a certain mood and vibe we really enjoy: Judge Dredd, Running Man, all these tongue-in-cheek comfort food experiences, and we really enjoy the lighthearted vibe of those things. Berg adds that those specific cyberpunk examples use violence as a spectacle, "the kind that makes you smile," and that fits what Neon Giant is going for in No Law. "The violence in our game is supposed to be a spectacle, too; the kind that makes you smile," Berg says. "There's horrible violence and the fun kind. We can't do dark, sad, and gritty; we want you to have a really good experience playing this game, laughing, at times feeling like a badass, to have the world respond to that, noticing what you're doing, and what you opted not to do. Cyberpunk is cool, and we enjoy it." The team is calling No Law a cyber-noire story, and Frick and Berg tell me it's because this game has moments to breathe and soak in the vibes – and there's also a detective element to the story, though the duo doesn't share more on that front. That's one way the two think No Law stands out from the obvious elephant in the room: Cyberpunk 2077. "It's clear that [No Law] is very much different," Frick tells me. "The art style and setting itself, this is a very lush city, and we're focusing a lot more on the density and the intimate feeling. We're not aiming to build a vast open world, but are focused on making a very dense open world with a very different scale and a very personal story." Frick says Harker's story isn't the end-all, be-all of Port Desire – it's just another story happening in this city. Berg chimes in, adding, "It's much more human and personal and intimate, and we made a lot of cool stylistic choices because of that." The two close out our conversation by explaining they feel Neon Giant fans like the studio's particular brand of personality – it's the biggest point of positive feedback the studio received from The Ascent. "If you've played The Ascent, you'll get a feel that [No Law] is the same team," Berg says. "That's what we're aiming for, even with this game that's completely different." No Law is being published by Krafton and will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime in the future. In the meantime, read Game Informer's review of The Ascent. Deadpool Is Coming To Marvel Rivals
The Marvel shooter is getting the Merc with a Mouth, and I bet he knows he is in the popular video game. The trailer proves that he at least knows he was in three movies. The Game Awards trailer announcing his arrival does not show gameplay or explain how he will work in the game, but it does showcase some fun and impressive 2D animation. It also teases another new character, Elsa Bloodstone. Deadpool will be part of season 6, Night at Museum, which begins January 16. View the full article

Saros Gets A New Gameplay Trailer And A Delay To April 2026
Saros, the new third-person action-shooter from Sony's Housemarque, got a new look at tonight's Game Awards, as well as a new release date of April 30, 2026. The trailer shown at The Game Awards 2025 put a spotlight on Arjun Devraj, portrayed by Rahul Kohli, and his crew as they struggle to figure out what's happening on the shifting planet of Carcosa. Housemarque's trademark style and action both look to be on full display here. Though previously announced for March 20, 2026, it looks like Housemarque is taking a little extra time for its new third-person action romp. What's being shown off right now is already looking great, so here's hoping the extra time gives the team what it needs to stick the landing. Saros is up for pre-order now, with 48-hour early access available for Digital Deluxe edition buyers. The quest to survive the foreboding eclipse inside Saros will kick off for PlayStation 5 owners on April 30, 2026. View the full article

007 First Light Villain Revealed, And He's Played By Lenny Kravitz
IO Interactive has released a new trailer for its upcoming Bond game, 007 First Light, and it pulls back the curtains on the villainous Bawma, who is played by none other than Lenny Kravitz. This trailer aired during The Game Awards, placing protagonist and 00-Agent-in-training James Bond in a fictional city in Mauritania, Africa. This city is called Aleph, and it seems to be a stronghold and shoddy utopia built by Bawma. Check out Bawma in the 007 First Light trailer below: "I am sometimes asked, 'Bawma, how is it that you hear every whisper in every corner?'," Bawma says to Bond, who is captured and hanging upside down before the villain, in the trailer. "And I answer, 'I built Aleph with my will, my blood, and my whole self.' This city is an extension of my being, my body, and today, it became infected. Easy girls, plenty of meat for everyone." As for the girls, my guess is crocodiles. These reptiles seem fitting for the situation, and Bawma seems to have crocodile-scale tattoos all over his body, with scales even attached to his yellow blazer. Interestingly, I looked up the word "Bawma," and it's traced back to Arabic, where it means "owl." So maybe the girls are owls, but the love of scales in Bawma's design is very apparent, and owls don't have scales. With Kravitz playing the villain, I'm wondering if Kravitz will create the Bond theme for this game. Fortunately, we don't have to wait too long to find out because 007 First Light launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC on March 27, 2026. In the meantime, check out this trailer that reveals the Aston Martin Valhalla as Bond's car of choice in 007 First Light, and then read about how watching a behind-closed-doors demo of 007 First Light quelled my biggest worry about the game. After that, check out this trailer of Bond's early days in the game. Do you think Lenny Kravitz is a good choice to play the villain in 007 First Light? Let us know in the comments below! Diablo IV: Lord Of Hatred Expansion Brings Paladin Class To The Game, Launches In April
Blizzard Entertainment has revealed a new expansion for Diablo IV called Lord of Hatred, and it will bring the highly requested Paladin class to the game when it launches on April 28, 2026. It will also bring a second unannounced class to Diablo IV, too, but Blizzard hasn't revealed what that class is yet. Lord of Hatred will finish the Age of Hatred Saga that loosely began in the base game and really ramped up with last year's Vessel of Hatred expansion. It will feature a campaign story that sees your hero face off against Mephisto in the ancient and fabled region of Skovos alongside new gameplay updates, two new classes, including the Paladin, and more. Pre-purchasing the expansion gives you access to the Paladin class immediately, giving you the chance to try it out before its divine authority takes center stage in next year's Lord of Hatred expansion. Check out the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion reveal trailer below: "In the aftermath of Vessel of Hatred, this next chapter drives players toward their final stand against Mephisto, whose deception and spreading influence threaten to twist Sanctuary into a world consumed by malice," Blizzard writes in a press release. "As Hell's legions surge and the ancient Pools of Creation draw Mephisto ever closer, the fate of humanity hangs by a thread. To stop him, the Wanderer must embrace an old foe long believed to be dead. Lilith returns, her prophetic last words echoing true, forcing a perilous alliance bound by necessity rather than trust. With time and allies running out, the Wanderer is in a desperate race to stop Mephisto before hatred reshapes the world forever." The new Paladin class gives players the chance to wield a hammer, shield, and Holy Light in the fight against Mephisto and his demon hordes. Blizzard says, "Through melee combat and divine abilities, the Paladin empowers players to strike with both unwavering faith and overwhelming force." Blizzard says the second unannounced class "looms on the dark horizon," noting the class' power is "undeniable" and "poised to reshape the battlefield" when Lord of Hatred launches in April. Alongside new classes and story content, Blizzard says Lord of Hatred delivers the biggest gameplay evolutions since the launch of Diablo IV in 2023, including reworked Skill Trees that introduce new class-specific variants and expanded level caps across all eight classes, a new Loot Filter, enhanced crafting systems, including the return of the Horadric Cube, new Talisman unlocks, and more. It also features an overhauled endgame. "War Plans let players craft their own endgame progression path, selecting favored activities and layering strategic modifiers as they push toward high-value rewards," Blizzard says. The expansion also features a new activity for players seeking respite from demon-slaying: Fishing. All purchases of the Lord of Hatred expansion include last year's Vessel of Hatred expansion, and pre-purchasing the former instantly gives you access to the latter. If you pre-purchase, you will gain early access to the Paladin class, one extra Stash Tab, two more Character Slots, and three World of Warcraft decor items. You can purchase the Standard Edition, which includes Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred, the Deluxe Edition, which includes both expansions as well as the Mini Chimera Pet Skorch, the Skartaran Basilisk Mount Bundle, the High Heavens Guard Cosmetic Bundle, a Premium Battle Pass Bundle, and more; the Ultimate Edition includes everything from the Standard and Deluxe Edition as well as the Umbral Knights Armor Bundle (with six class sets), 3000 Platinum, the Steel of the Shining Realm Bundle, Tymn, Echo of Spire Back Trophy, the Ascent of the Just Town Portal Skin, and more. Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred launches on April 28, 2026. In the meantime, read Game Informer's Diablo IV review, and then read our thoughts on last year's Vessel of Hatred expansion. Endnight Debuts Forest 3
One of the more enigmatic reveals of tonight’s Game Awards has proven to be a first look at Forest 3, the new game from Endnight. In the debut trailer, we see a spaceship-bound character, presumably returning to Earth, who is suddenly sucked through a portal or wormhole, and then crashlands on a dangerous and disturbing alien planet, filled with strange creatures and, in one case, a vaguely humank-like abominations. There’s not much more to learn from the first look, but The Forest and Son of the Forest were received very positively by the community of survival horror fans, so there’s good reason to be hopeful about this new third entry. No word yet on a release date or platforms for the newly announced Endnight game. View the full article

Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis Is A Remake Of The First Game In The Series
Crystal Dynamics and developer Flying Wild Hog have revealed Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a remake of the very first Tomb Raider game, which originally launched in 1996. The reveal trailer shows a Lara Croft reminiscent of her 1996 design with a little more color, modernity, and polygons, as well as treacherous puzzles and platforming, a dinosaur, and more. It will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam in 2026. "Developed in partnership between Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, the game features stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, modern game design, and new surprises that honor the spirit and atmosphere of the original game," a press release reads. "As Lara Croft, players will harness their wits and athleticism to explore exotic locations lost to time, traverse treacherous landscapes, solve deadly contraptions, and face lethal predators in their quest for the scattered pieces of the Scion – an artifact of immeasurable power." Check out the Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis reveal trailer here: Following 2018's Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which concluded the trilogy that began with the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot followed by 2016's Rise of the Tomb Raider, developer Crystal Dynamics announced in 2022 that it was working on a new game in the series powered by Unreal Engine 5. It seems Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is part of the vision, though right before this reveal, Crystal Dynamics announced Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a brand-new game.
