  3. Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting its first dose of Dragon Ball Daima with the upcoming addition of that anime’s take on Super Saiyan 4 Goku. The news was announced during Evo France. This isn't the first appearance of the Super Saiyan 4 transformation in Dragon Ball FighterZ – SS4 Gogeta from Dragon Ball GT was a previous DLC fighter. But this is the first appearance of SS4 Goku in the game, albeit the new version introduced in Dragon Ball Daima, the current and ongoing Dragon Ball anime. A teaser trailer doesn’t reveal any gameplay or additional information besides a spring 2026 release window for the character. For those counting, this addition will bring the number of …

  4. When my colleague Marcus Stewart and I visited Obsidian Entertainment last month to check out The Outer Worlds 2 for the current Game Informer cover story, we went in with one goal in mind: to find out if we can pet something, anything, in The Outer Worlds 2 (okay, and maybe to play the game and interview the team and find out why people should be excited about this expansive sequel). Everyone, I come bearing good news: there are pets in The Outer Worlds 2, and yes, you can pet them. If you played The Outer Worlds back in 2019, you know Obsidian's luscious sci-fi world was filled with all kinds of oddities, from weapons to characters to locations to capitalistic tenden…

  10. Heart Machine, the studio behind Hyper Light Drifter and Solar Ash, has announced that it is winding down the development of its Early Access title, Hyper Light Breaker. The news comes as the Los Angeles-based indie studio announces layoffs. In a statement posted to social media (and first reported by Game Developer), Heart Machine confirmed that it will end development of Hyper Light Breaker and that an unknown number of employees have been laid off. "As we wrap up our work on Hyper Light Breaker, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to part ways with a number of talented team members. This was not our ideal path, but rather the only one available given the circumst…

  19. Platform: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC Publisher: Skybound Games Developer: Quarter Up Release: 2026 Rating: Mature When I visited Skybound Entertainment to get my hands on Invincible VS ahead of its June reveal, I emerged impressed by the technical proficiency and over-the-top action the 3v3 fighter delivers within a product that feels genuine to the source material. And it makes sense, seeing as how the team is made up of writers, artists, and talent involved with the show and comic, as well as developer…

  21. At Game Informer, writing game reviews is one of our primary functions. As such, we cover hundreds of titles each and every year, hoping to turn you on to your next favorite game. However, within that field, a select few rise to the top as the games we most highly recommend. While you're always welcome to peruse our reviews page for the latest and greatest (and sometimes worst) games on the market, we've gathered our highest-scoring reviews of 2025 right here. When Game Informer was re-launched in March of this year, we made it a point to review many of the games we missed, but we couldn't cover them all. As such, some critically acclaimed games, such as Split Fiction, a…
