Order Of The Sinking Star Launches In October

Order of the Sinking Star, the next puzzle game by Braid/The Witness creator Jonathan Blow and his team at Thekla, has a release date. The massive adventure arrives on October 8.

First revealed at The Game Awards 2025, Order of the Sinking Star unfolds in a fantasy world boasting over 1,000 unique, interconnected puzzles.  Players control a princess transported to another world made up of four biomes, each filled with bespoke characters and puzzles that, eventually, converge to blend their mechanics in increasingly complex ways.

Because of the game's immense size, Thekla also enlisted design help from other game designers such as Alan Hazelden (Skipping Stones to Lonely Homes, Mirror Isles), Sean Barrett (Promesst), Jonah Ostroff (Heroes of Sokoban), Zach Polansky (Enigmash), Patrick Traynor (Patrick's Parabox), and Marc ten Bosch (Miegakure), among others.

“Order of the Sinking Star simply wouldn’t exist without the incredible designers who helped work on it over the years,” said Jonathan Blow in a press release. "By creating a kind of game design supercollider, we were able to bring together ideas from some of the most brilliant puzzle designers in the industry. I’m grateful to everyone who contributed to help us push the limits of what's possible in a puzzle adventure. We can’t wait for players to step into this world and discover just how deep and complex it really is.

Order of the Sinking Star will launch for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC.
