Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Finally Frees Guns Of The Patriots From Its PS3 Prison

Metal Gear fans have begged, and at last Konami is delivering. A second Master Collection of the series is on the way, and it finally ports 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to modern platforms.

Announced during today's PlayStation State of Play, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 bundles Guns of the Patriots, 2010's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, formerly a PSP exclusive set during the Big Boss era. Additionally, MGS 4 and Peace Walker also come with screenplay books and a Master book, while the former includes the Metal Gear Solid 4 database.  Vol. 2 also includes a digital soundtrack.

Interestingly, the collection's graphic also lists Metal Gear Ghost Babel, the Game Boy Color game that tells an alternate story to the original Metal Gear Solid, as "bonus content," but it's not counted as being another game in the collection. One would assume Ghost Babel is playable, but we'll have to wait to learn more.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 will launch on August 27 for PlayStation 5.
